Don't Run and Hide

Uneasy about your current job stability? Who isn't? Don't fade into oblivion. Take the opportunity to be more visible. Yes, stand out like a sore thumb. How you ask?
By talking to your boss. Just simple, everyday meaningful conversation. Ask the following:
- What areas do I need to improve? Don't assume you know your weaknesses.
- How will we gauge my success? Your boss certainly will, work with them to develop a plan.
- How can I help you? Go above and beyond.
- What are my strengths? Know them and use them more.
- Can we recap? Make sure you are on the same page.
- What are the priorities? Plan an attack for everything on your plate.
- Where you see my career heading? Don't make this sound like you are leaving if you don't get your way. Do make it sound like you are engaged and want to grow moving forward.
